LINCOLN — Hundreds rally at the Nebraska Capitol to celebrate International Transgender Day of Visibility and in opposition to a proposed bill in the state’s legislature that would ban gender-affirming care.
Democratic senators have been filibustering every legislation to come to the floor, ultimately halting the state legislature.
“I will burn this session to the ground,” Nebraska State Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh said in opposition to LB574. “You cannot stop me.”
The ongoing filibuster has garnered national attention, spotlighting the state.
